In Loving Memory of Barbara Frankel

An admirer and enthusiastic supporter of David DiChiera, Barbara was elected to the Board of Trustees in 1995 and to the Board of Directors in 2001. For nearly three decades she was a devoted advocate, working tirelessly in support of the company, the art forms of both opera and dance, and her beloved Detroit Opera House. Barbara’s Detroit Opera legacy reflects active board participation, leadership support for some of our organization’s most significant initiatives and events, and generous philanthropy. While many will know Barbara by the exquisite donor lounge that bears her name, it was her unending passion for our organization and quiet acts of kindness for which she will most be remembered. Barbara was adored by her Detroit Opera family – board members and staff alike.
